TO BRENANDAN O'SHAUGHNESSY:
Mr. O’Shaughnessy, you co-authored with Maureen Groppe and Bill Ruthhart, a compilation of Sunday Indy Star articles, including ‘Cameras in unusual places’, to which I take exception. The lady took no pictures and had no camera during the time I was there. You previously wrote a great article on the media’s obligation to report the facts fairly and without discrimination to its readers. Some of these protesters were minority and there to protest a Demo fundraiser for unfairly awarding minority contracts or lack thereof. Too bad the minority protestors were not interviewed; nor was the lady that the Demo chairman slammed, leaving the readers with a Demo slam. You did not verify. You did not make the attempt. You did not get the other side for comments. You missed a meaty story that had some teeth in it from minority protestors. You let a slam stand. Shame! You are better than this. Next time you collaborate with others, you might ask if they verified their story.
