PREDICTION: By December 1/4th of all homes for sale will be bank owned

Homeowners this year will be struggling to cover their 2007 property tax make up bills just as record numbers of foreclosed bank-owned properties are hitting the market driving down home values. In fact it is predicted that a quarter of all properties on the market in December 2008 will be bank owned.

Yet many of us saw our home assessments go up, not down, in the governor ordered reassessments. Tell us again how that math works?

Your tax "relief" from the Indiana legislature is coming this summer in the form of your 2007 make up bill. Then in August you are going to get another invoice you will be forced to pay to keep your house.

Your escrow payments are going up. So if you are already the one in 542 U.S. households facing foreclosure, your new property tax escrow payment is going to put you over the edge.

Now if your friends start jumping off buildings and overdosing due to the stress this creates in their lives, don't go calling on Senator Teresa Lubbers to lend a compassionate ear or to work on fixing the problem. She doesn't care.

Keep in mind, the Indiana Constitution in Article 8 does not provide for schools to be paid from homeowners' property taxes and you have a legal right to request a refund of all property taxes that were improperly collected.
