Why you should not show up to protest your taxes on July 4th

Hate Rally on the 4th?
Call it righteous anger and more of you should have it.

There is really no need to show up again on July 4th to protest your taxes because the problem is not going to change. It won't change because most of you do not have the wearwithall or commitment to do what it takes to MAKE your government obey the law.
Most of you don't understand that the problem lies with your apathy.
.
What it will take

In order to make your government repeal property tax it is going to take multiple protests of 5,000 to 10,000 people as well as a constant barrage of citizen letters sent to politicians demanding repeal for the next year to two years.
It's also going to take a statewide citizen effort to see to it that every single incumbent is voted out of office and as many third party and independents as possible are voted in.

And quite frankly, I don't see that kind of motivation to work for change from the people of Indiana. You believe everything else in your life is more important than citizen oversight of your government or that politicians obey the laws written to protect you and your assets.

Complicating the effort that we fail to make politicians fix the problem, is that most of you have blind devotion to the republican or democrat political party and do not believe a third party or an independent can win an election, so therefore don't give them money, support, or your vote.

Last year our activists told you the reassessment order was a ploy to make you back off protesting and that you would end up paying MORE tax if you did not continue to fight. You chose to believe your politicians rather than the activists. Consequently, this year you get THREE tax bills, a property tax increase, and a one penny sales tax increase.
.
Am I angry? You bet I am. I gave a few thousand dollars last year to good political candidates who were outside the corrupt system and devoted countless personal time to the fight. For my efforts, I watched the very people I needed to continue to fight, selfishly go back to their lives, leaving the heavy lifting to activists like myself.

I don't see that this year will be any different. And quite frankly, if you aren't prepared for the inconvenience of the time it takes to fight for a year or more, you aren't going to change a thing by showing up to protest this 4th of July. So don't bother wasting your time or mine.
.
You are going to have to fight for yourselves or do whatever else it takes to be able to temporarily keep the government from foreclosing on your home. You need to IMMEDIATELY defect from the political status quo that has allowed this to happen.
.
Either you fight with all you have or you lose to the taxman. It's time to decide what you will do. But don't whine when you did what you did last year and ultimately lose the roof over your head.

Thanks. This was prompted by a phone call I got from a very dear friend involved with this fight who said he got a call from the Indy Star asking if this was a hate rally? I told him to tell the Indy Star that it is RIGHTEOUS ANGER!
