NO SURPRISE: Public CIB Meeting missing from city calendar

Last week Abdul gave our team of tax activists a little grief because, although most of us have full time day jobs, we were not at the last CIB meeting. He gave us grief because we are extremely criticial of the Capital Improvement Board's clandestine public/private partnership that uses vast amounts of our wealth and is far less than transparent in regard to how it is spent.

Look at today's calendar on Indy.gov

Do you see a CIB meeting scheduled? I sure don't.

Mayor Ballard, the city, and the CIB are not making it easy for taxpayers to keep up with CIB business, unless you follow one media personality and internet blogs.

If I didn't know Abdul, I would have no idea that there is a meeting or where it is to be held. I had to send a text to Abdul to find out that it is in the Convention Center at 2pm today in room 110. Please try to show up to this meeting to let these leeches on our wallets know we have their corrupt number and we will have public discourse about their deceit at the Revolt on March 25th.

I cannot attend today. I don't have time off from my job to go. I'm spending my lunch hour at the post office, mailing additional batches of 500 flyers for the State House Revolt to volunteers around Indiana.

Oh, great...has Ballard now forgotten his roots, also?

I've been saying this for some time, Melyssa. They are deliberately not posting notices of meetings and agendas on the internet.

Concerned, it was established at least 9 months ago that Mayor Ballard forgot his roots.

I didn't see thatyou put the location on here. I finished up with a client meeting at about 2:10and rushed over to the City-County Building thinking the meeting would be held there, where most city/county meetings are held.

The people at the information desk did not know anything about the meeting. I went to the council offices, nobody knew about the meeting. They couldn't find it anywhere on the calendar. Then I went to the Department of Metropolitian Development. They had no record of any CIB meeting.

When I got back to my office, I checked your blog again and saw that the meeting was being held at the convention center. A meeting held at the convention center at 2 p.m. on a work day. The location for most city/local types is several blocks away. And it's at a time terribly inconvenient to the public. I don't think that's a coincidence.
