The Marine who would be mayor

Hoosiers For Fair Taxation hears again and again that the voting public doesn't know who mayoral candidate Greg Ballard is, yet we see him constantly when we are out and about at city council meetings and tax rallies. The reason why you don't see a lot of marketing from his camp, according to our sources, is that many of the power brokers within the Marion County GOP are in bed with Bart Peterson to keep your tax dollars flowing to their business interests...particularly their law firms and construction companies. In other words wealthy connected Republicans want to keep the status quo with Peterson.

Yesterday the Indianapolis Star ran a biographical piece on Ballard and spelled out exactly how Ballard is qualified to run our city. We like it that Ballard is a political novice and we like it that he has real accomplishment under his belt, was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and has had to work for what he has (unliked his opponent).

We have confidence that Greg Ballard will not lie to us. We believe he will change our local government's arrogant and inaccessible culture making the city's business accessible and accountable. Peterson has lied to us and shut us out the entire time he has held office.

Ballard takes the time to network with the tax activists and protestors. We've made it clear that when he is mayor we intend to watch his office like a hawk. He laughs and says he knows we will.
