Is there a republican in Indiana who can tell this blog's readers what Jon Elrod has done for the Hoosier taxpayer? Specifically we are looking for Elrod's accomplishment and actions, not his words or promises. If he feels he is ready for Congress, we think he needs to be able to point to some accomplishments on our behalf.
We combed news releases, blogs, and news articles and cannot find a single thing that Elrod has done to benefit the taxpayer. Even the republican party press releases cannot tell us. Maybe one of our readers knows something.

He campaigns like a toddler who is never satisfied with the toy he has but, always wants the other kids toys...
Andre, has just been handed every toy he has ever wanted, at our expense...
That only leaves one choice.
Sean was never handed anything, yet stepped up to work long hours for taxpayers and work toward creating solutions for our problems. He never asked for payment for his work either. Sean deserves to go to Congress.
I talked to a precinct committeeman who also gave money to Elrod's campaign this morning to try to help with this question. He could not answer, but said he would check with other Republicans.
I saw another blog comment that offered that Elrod walked his district.
Isn't every other candidate "campaigning" too? How does campaigning constitute helping the taxpayer?
I've met Jon on several occasions and spoken with him at length. He's not a powerhouse type of figure as a freshmen legislator but he has done some work behind the scenes as well as out front for the glbt community. So far, he has co-sponsored the Bias Crimes Bill, been outspoken within his Republican caucas against SJR-7, works at getting legislators to meet with LGBT people, attends Lambda Legal Benefit Dinners, and has hosted an IE fundraiser for just a few examples. When you buck your caucas' position on issues, it's tough to get your own legislation looked at, let alone passed.
I'll be the first to admit, that while I personally like Jon, he does not share my view on all issues. No candidate represents all the people all of the time. I have found Jon to be sincere in his willingness to listen to people and he has been known to change his stand when presented with facts about which he was unaware. My understanding is that he has come a long way in his support of glbt folks over the years. I believe he is sincere in his desire to work for the people of Indiana. I find that refreshing and hope he can maintain that sense of integrity in the face of the political machine as time goes on.
I also personally find his stated stand on issues from his website to be less than inspiring.
