It is looking like the taxpayer rally folks of last summer will be meeting up again to attend the Mayor's first budget presentation on Monday night. Some will gather at the city county building's mezzanine as early as 6pm to talk and catch up.
Things are a lot different than they were at last year's meeting led by ex-Mayor Peterson. Peterson stacked the audience with city workers and political cronies, while the check writing taxpayers were locked out of the meeting in 90 degree heat. I wrote about last year's rally, and for the first time, put now ex-Mayor Peterson on notice that we were going to remove him.
Something tells me the taxpayers are going to get the good seats up front this year.
Thanks, Mayor Ballard, for giving us access to the process and your accountability to us.

The main difference is "We Now Have a Mayor That Truly Cares"
Mayor Ballard may not have all of the answer this time but, he has only had 7 months at the job and Lord knows what shambles the last guys left us in.
However I believe with all of heart that the Mayor will be as fair as he can and by next year's budget he will have all of the answers.
