EIGHT STATES NOW DECLARING SOVEREIGNTY!!

Several states have recently appealed to the 10th and/or the 9th Amendments to assert their state rights over federal government.

These amendments state:

Amendment 9 - Construction of Constitution. Ratified 12/15/1791.
The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

Amendment 10 - Powers of the States and People. Ratified 12/15/1791.
Note: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

2. New Hampshire

3. Arizona

4. Montana

5. Michigan

6. Missouri

7. Oklahoma

8. Hawaii

Are we seeing a trend? Why isn't Indiana on this list yet?

One of our State Senators has intimated that he might introduce something similar. It has been a couple of weeks and not sure how far it has gotten or if they have had second thoughts.

Would that be the liberty minded Senator Delph who has been making many gutsy moves, popular with The People, in the last couple legislative sessions?

I'm going to call my state rep about naming the state's #1 Carnival food too. I think it should be Corn Dogs or the uber-Hoosier Fried Twinkie.

Melyssa, I can assure you this fall at the State Fair it will be deep-fried sugar creme pie, sprinkled with confectioner's sugar (on a stick, of course).

I think it’s great, but in the day in age where the constitution doesn’t matter and where judges don’t look towards the constitution but to international law… What does this mean by these states passing these declarations? The states still have to be vanilla to receive funding from the Fed for highways, ect…

Perhaps we need a different declaration. Perhaps the citizens of this great country should declare that we as individuals will no longer go along with increase tyranny and into involuntary national debt. This is what Hamilton wanted; we are all in bondage with debt. I for one only exist in this time, and I do not want my life to be consumed being a producer for the political classes in Washington. This Government was created to protect the rights of sovereign individuals; any more it is an un-constitution nanny-state…that has a long history of failure.

As I look further at these actions, I wonder if this may be another example of "be careful what you wish for - you might get it!"

For example, if you look at State legislation against any kind of draft or conscription without a war, and you then look at Obama's possible intent to require mandatory gov't service by everyone who falls into a certain age bracket, or if you look at White House policies that will further reduce sovereign US authority and increase foreign interdependence, then secession by several of these States is a foregone conclusion.

And I have to ask myself if certain reknowned Russian political/economic analysts who have predicted a US break-up in the very near future might have more than just insights into current and future events. Many of us who follow politics closely - and who rely on non-mainstream media to present the whole picture - have been saying for a long tome that the tool that allows control of government by criminals is the "divide and conquer" technique. What better way to conquer than to split us up via actual borders and separate governments? And what better way to convince people that they need to belong to a single regional economy rather than individual economies?

I suspect that this effort may be part of a Balkanization process. I haven't listed all of my reasons for concern, but when you start digging into details, certain influential individuals seem to be prepared for this type of scenario. It won't come as a surprise.

To me, an expected response by the States towards real Constitutional leadership from Washington would be an organization of State citizens to petition the federal government for redress of issues, and a unification among like-minded states to petition jointly for the same. That process hasn't happened. Instead we're seeing blanket statements of secession if likely events take place.

It doesn't have the fit or feel of a legitimate effort that protects the interests of the people. My advice is to be careful before getting behind something like this. Especially if you're a member of any state legislature and private or influential individuals are pressuring you to introduce something similar.
