Bloggers bailing on Jacob Perry and Circle City Pundit

"Yes yes, I bask in the glory of those who agree with me. That must be why this site is more open to discussion than any out there in this state. We've tolerated your rants and your personal attacks for this long, yet you are going to say that this site is only about agreeing with me? Who's the baby?"

Jacob Perry on Circle City Pundit, March 2009

A recent vicious rant posted by Jacob Perry, caused me to give a quick look over at his Circle City Pundit last week. That's when I realized all of the major contributors to the CCP blog had jumped ship and no longer contribute to his site. You will find many of them working together at the well respected conservative leaning blog, Hoosier Access.

Sean Shepard is the most recent departure from CCP. Perry's not talking about why Shepard left. But I know. Jacob Perry is furious that Sean would not give insider information about Ed Coleman's change of political party before the official press conference announcement. He was angry because he wanted to brown nose Tom John with the nugget before the press conference. What Jacob Perry is too narcissistic to get is that eyes roll when his name is mentioned in even Republican circles these days and his legend exists only in his mind.

One Republican insider suggested that in the few years he had known Jacob, the man had not been able to hold down even his pizza delivery or retail sales jobs and thinks he eventually had to flee Indiana with his family to go live in his parents house. A lot of Republicans frowned on Perry's storm of self-importance when he publicly dumped his failed attempt to manage the 2004 Horning Campaign.

Lots of people appear to have gotten entangled in Perry's rants, schemes and are target of the blame for his own failures. Perry himself seems to have been everything from a Democrat, a Libertarian to a Republican in his attempts to try and become some big political insider and get a political job. He certainly must fume when he sees so many former friends actually having an impact, making a difference and making headlines.

"Shepard on Politics and Policy" and his national LibertyFile.com brought in 6500 unique readers in just a single day last week. Circle City Pundit blog won't pull anywhere near that number of readers in a two-month period, let alone a day.

No longer with regular contributors, except local Pro Cynic Jeff Cox who is an order of magnitude smarter than Perry, he now attempts to bait Patriot Paul to blog at CCP.

We got to know Patriot Paul in the summer of 2007 when he began showing up at the Indiana Tea Parties, tax protests, and the city council protests. We quickly saw his enthusiasm, dedication, and friendliness and it was natural to give him bigger platforms to express himself and his views. In the early days, while he was still a bit reluctant and unsure patriot in costume, I taught him that Patriot Paul would become a "brand" and it was perfectly fine to show up at events in costumes and encouraged his playful antics. I was right. His constant and very clever antics played well for The People in the media. Now Patriot Paul frequently contributes articles and photos to HFFT and has been quite helpful to our efforts to inform you.

Paul confirmed he was asked to blog by Jacob Perry, who updates his site from his parents basement in Florida. I personally warned Paul that I see Jacob Perry as narcissistic, unstable, untrustworthy, and will in all likelihood back stab him like he's done others. I don't want to see that happen to Patriot Paul, a relative newcomer, who doesn't understand Perry's past.

I warned our well-meaning and hardworking Patriot Paul, that in my opinion, Perry exhibits many characteristics of a sociopath.

Before Jacob Perry refers to another hardworking unpaid activist working on behalf of the people as children and himself an adult (as he often does in blog rants), he needs to think real hard about who lives in his mommy and daddy's basement and who has their act together enough in the real world to manage the responsibility of paying their mortgages, keeping their jobs, and functioning in the real world as an adult.

And before he brags that CCP's site is more open to discussion than any other in the state, he might want to ask himself why he bans people with dissenting opinion from commenting on his blog. I believe that the answer to these questions is found in the definition of a sociopath.

i quit reading that one since it was updated so infrequently and the content was always available at the other guys blogs. others always have done the heavy lifting on ccp from what i saw perry just seems to lob insults at people but that cynic guy makes thoughtful posts

shepard always seems respectful and balanced in his posted comments makes one tend to agree with the grown up analogy

who are the bloggers who quit ccp? i knew that brian guy now posts at hoosier access

and i thought somebody at some club meeting said he was finally getting getting a job with some elected official down in florida or washington? apparently they passed him over on that too?

THE MALIGNANT PERSONALITY:

These people are mentally ill and extremely dangerous! The following precautions will help to protect you from the destructive acts of which they are capable.

First, to recognize them, keep the following guidelines in mind.

(1) They are habitual liars. They seem incapable of either knowing or telling the truth about anything.

(2) They are egotistical to the point of narcissism. They really believe they are set apart from the rest of humanity by some special grace.

(3) They scapegoat; they are incapable of either having the insight or willingness to accept responsibility for anything they do. Whatever the problem, it is always someone else's fault.

(4) They are remorselessly vindictive when thwarted or exposed.

He lives with his parents? How old is he?

Patriot Paul did not take your advice. He is at CCP. I watched you with him over the last two years. I also watched his ego inflate. I know you tried your best to guide him. You can't save them all.

I looked at Circle City blog today. Perry lost it. You castrated him. You have the gratitude of many of us who can't do what you just did.

Insider? who are you? You can email me to say. I know you?

ANON 7:42. I know that Perry worked for a Congressman in Florida who got elected. Perry didn't get a job offer. I'm not sure why. One can speculate though. Or one could call the Congressman's office and ask!

Anon 6:51: his Facebook picture would indicate mid 30s or so???

Regarding his newest attack on another 'former friend'. Remember the ones he laid on Ed Coleman a few weeks ago? The ones he laid on Brian Jessen last year? The bomb he threw at Jon Elrod before kissing and making up when he thought he might get paid to help Jon out? He has no credibility at this point.

historically this is what Jacob had to say about Mr. Shepard:

JANUARY 17, 2008

This past weekend, I told a number of people that the Libertarian Party of Marion County would have enough sense to pick Tim Maguire (their best option in years) over Melyssa Donaghy to be their Candidate for the 7th District Special Election. It would appear I gave them way too much credit. They, of course proved why they are completely irrelevant by selecting local "activist" and "entrepreneur" Sean Shepard instead (you know, if I went around referring to myself as the King of England, would that make it so?).

FEBRUARY 6, 2008

This is a unique situation for me in this cycle as I happen to know Sean quite well, as a former business partner and campaign activist, as he did yeoman work for the Horning Campaign in 2004. Sean is one of the smartest, most creative and competent individuals I've ever had the pleasure to know in my nearly 20 years of campaign work. He's aggressive, strategic, creative and hard working. Without question (and with apologies to Horning), he's the most capable candidate the LP has ever run in this race (I'm tempted to say that he's the first Libertarian candidate who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy). In fact, Donaghy gets credit for actively supporting him, especially as Sean was put forward as a candidate in the first place in order to keep Donaghy off the ballot (even the LP isn't immune from back-room dealing)."

SEPT 28, 2008

In keeping with the theme of having some of the best contributors in the local blogosphere, I am very proud to announce that Sean Shepard has joined us as a contributor. In fact, Sean was so anxious to get started you can read his first post here, which was added last Friday.

Here's more about Sean:
Sean Shepard is a life long Indianapolis resident with extensive experience in the technology and telecommunications industries. Sean has been a supporter of small government, low tax, pro-liberty causes and candidates for many years. In 2004 he helped manage a major party campaign for Congress, has spent time as an Assistant State Director for Americans for Fair Taxation (the FairTax people) and has been a frequent guest on WXNT 1430 AM Indianapolis. In 2008 he became the Libertarian candidate for Congress in the 7th District special election where he set a new percentage of vote record for third parties vying for that seat.

Clearly this Perry guy can't make up his mind who he likes or dislikes.

His opinion seems to change based on where he thinks he can benefit by being a player or getting others to do things for him or offer him a spot at the table.

So, let us consider:

Melyssa, I think you really went over the line this time in assassinating people's character (his living arrangements, job history, family--that's cheap and low down scum behavior). I know it's part of who you are to do that, but when you dish it out and some comes back, it's kind of embarrassing to issue a cease-and-desist on your blog (and then remove it). Just trying to keep you honest. It's hard work.

Josh...
Appreciate your comments and know you are well meaning.

But let me clarify.

I didn't assassinate his character. I just pointed out facts. He does a fine job on his own.

Perry libeled me. I did not libel him.

I didn't issue a cease and desist. I issued a request to retract libel. I received documentation (via email) that he received my request, which is what I need for my attorney. Thus it was removed from this forum.
.
He now insinuates I'm having an affair with Sean and threatened physical violence against Paul Wheeler. Categorically untrue. And I don't want THAT on the net. You can say whatever you want about me if it is true. God knows I've been in the news a lot. But, you can't libel me and not expect to be sued.
.
I pointed out to this great self-proclaimed Christian adult, that he might not be the grown up he professes to be.
.
I've watched him senselessly attack people for a long time now. I've pretty much kept quiet. Until now.

I've had enough of him and plan to take care of him once and for all. And unlike him, I don't need mommy and daddy to pay my attorney!
