Already massive compensation package is not enough for Washington Township's Educrat, Dr. James Mervilde!

I cannot believe the emails I've received today from Washington Township citizens outraged that the school board is considering giving Superintendent James Mervilde another raise.

Advance Indiana writes in detail about this latest outrage against the taxpayers.

This blog has much about Mervilde, including his contract, throughout our archives.

A national deficit four times larger than what Bush left us, double-digit state unemployment, approximately #9 nationally in cities with foreclosures, not enough money to hire all the needed police, hard times ahead in school funding given the economy and revenue caps, year-to-year danger of closing some or all of MSDWT summer school, and the superintendent wants a big raise? I don't think he's a bad superintendent or even a bad guy. But, even if I agreed with him 100%and he saves kittens and walks old ladies across the street- we can't afford his raise now. My guess is there are a lot of laid-off, qualified people who would love to have his gig at present salary and benefits.

notice how they always threaten to have to cut teachers or services to children, but you never hear them say a word about cutting the salaries of these fat cats?

It is well within the realm of fair to lobby against the salary increase of someone who continuously lobbies for increased tax burden upon the citizenry.
